Venus Provides….<Tag Terrence, all in house>

[Shidare]

Shidare was walking Lulu through her house after sleeping off yet another night of no partners to share her bed. She wasn’t that frustrated but she could feel let down she hadn’t found someone. She passed cleaning staff who should have been at breakfast.

“Sir and ma’am get off to breakfast. There is no skipping communal meal. It’s how we build good relationships with each other. Plus you are also paid to eat. Off you go.”

Her true destination was to collect Kax and Terrence. Terrence was an interesting find. He was in the back fenced in storage area in very terrible shape. She had always been a sucker for a stray and this stray, after some cleaning and healing wasn’t to bad looking. His body was hard and scarred. It gave her pleasant thoughts which she stored away as she knocked on the door to her Security Lounge. She waited several moments then entered.

“Ku’loo Kax no gada. Terrence good morning. I see everyone is here. Ladies, gentleman, and my binary friends let go eat. They are waiting for us.”

Everyone rose and as they filed our Shidare slipped Kax a note.

“I’ll be along in a moment she whisper.”

She turned to Terrence.

“I have errands today and Kax tells me it’s your turn in rotation. You will be accompanying me today after we eat.”

It had been a few weeks since he had been patched up by Shidare and taken in with a much needed chance to recover both physically and mentally after what he had been going through, the fact he wasn't asked a whole lotta questions despite his highly dubious appearance and shackles made him thankful as it certainly wasn't somethin he cared to speak about so soon. With her rather forgiving stipulations of working for her and paying off what he owed, that was something he had no qualms about. He showed a bit of reluctance primarily out of embarrassment at first given the nature of her business here but his was a debt that he would seen paid in full.

After all, he doesn't forget such kindness done.

Despite his flustered reluctance at first he quickly came to see for himself how she took care of all under the roof here and that most certainly helped quash any reservations as Shidare as he learned her name shown to be a fair person, he adapted to being a bouncer for the brothel quickly and was terribly vigilant and diligent with his work giving his current employer no reasons to be dissatisfied with his service. During his own down time he sought out as much common knowledge of Venus trying to be subtle but he also really needed to understand the universe he was in and so far things have painted a pretty bleak picture as he learned more of he solar system's situation.

He was actually mulling those thoughts in the shack while relaxing a bit when his current boss entered with a greeting which prompted him to stand a bit more to attention and bob his once in greetings, once she turned to address him about his accompanying her on errands he again nodded once in agreement "Good morning Miss Shidare, it is as you say and I'll be ready to go when you are." he said honestly with a small grin. He really didn't mind working for her, she treated him well enough and he couldn't deny for a moment she was easy on the eyes. Still he had to try to be a bit professional on the job!

She smiled and that alone seemed to brighten the dimly lit room. She never understood why he security people liked this room dimly lit but it was a request by Kax and she had honored it. She laughed at the Miss Shidare, which she did every time someone called her by a polite title.

“Terrence, it’s Shidare, but I’ve said that same phrase more than enough to know your manners won’t be budged.”

She appraised Terrence and nodded to his he was ready but she to needed to eat something and so did he.

“Excellent! Let’s eat first then we can visit our distributors and ensure the orders are correct before they arrive. Usually I send one of the other house staff but personal observation of the process keeps you cognizant of what your spending.”

She motioned for the door.

“Let’s get some breakfast first then go out and see what we are spending.”

As Shidare smiled Terrence mused inwardly *That smile is a dangerous weapon, so bright.* he thought even as he responded to her light comment about just using her name without miss "Haa..sorry about that just trying to be professional while on the clock. I try not to do anything halfass" he admitted as he relaxed at the mention of dinner following along behind her. "Still I'll see if can't drop the miss at least during breaks."

As he walked alongside the pink haired beauty he ran his fingers along his smooth shaven chin "Hey the best employers are the ones that check in on all the operations to personally see things at the proverbial ground level, at least in my opinion. It'll be my pleasure to escort you for the rounds, as I am a bit curious myself to see these distributors as well." Granted this would be a great opportunity in his mind to see other parts of the town they are in, while he's been here for a few weeks now there are lots of places he'd yet to visit and learning more of the town would be in his interest.

"Will we have any other stops after you check in with the distributors?" He asked curiously as they entered the dining area.

She walked along with Terrence as he spoke. He was as he said without trying. Professional and polite. It hadn’t gone unnoticed. She appreciated his adherence to the professional attitude.

“You’re not on the clock right now. Just relax and enjoy a small walk with me, or just enjoy the walk to breakfast.”

She liked him and how he kept an eye on things other then the men and woman who entertained the guests. She had Kax remove those who couldn’t divide their attention and with Terrence that wasn’t an issue.

“Sounds like you’ve run a business yourself. Another interesting item about you Terrence.”

She smiled a bit when he asked about the distributors. He was keen and intelligent. She didn’t doubt it but then again sometimes a rock was just a rock.

“I should bring you along more often if you have an interest in this side of the business.”

She stopped outside the dining room.

“Several other places as well. The fabric store and the furniture store. Security is getting their bed replaced. Heavens know I go through enough mattresses in the place.”

She offered Terrence the chance to enter before her. She said people weren’t late until she was seat.

“After you Terrence.”

He was in fact already fairly relaxed at the moment but couldn't fault Shidare for making that point as he had already called her 'Miss Shidare' once already this morning. *Maybe I'm being a bit to stiff with what I call her on and off shift?..never really had this kinda job before so i'm sorta just winging it* he admitted internally to himself and he offered Shidare a small grin and a slight shake of his head at her musings about him maybe owning a business before. "Ah I'm afraid I gotta disappoint you there, I've never had a business but I hear things from time to time, and mainly its something I keep hearing from successful owners is have a hand in everything so your never caught flat-footed by an unexpected expense or incident."

"Granted that tends to apply to smaller companies where its possible to track everything. Probably rather hard as expansion happens." He paused briefly at the door to the dining room and decided to take her offer to enter first, since she had beat him to the punch it would have been rude to decline, he spoke up when they both got in "I wouldn't say no, but who knows that might just be me looking for a excuse to go out" he commented impishly at the idea of her taking him along for other business related things.

He cracked a more honest smile "I jest of course, I'm ill suited to be a buisnessman I just like learnin things here and there, y'know a bit of worldly knowledge to spew at random" he chuckled before thinking about the other errands "Very well, sounds like we got a bit of a day ahead of us."

Shidare's smile grew as she entered behind Terrance. A self taught individual, how refreshing and interesting. He feigned at being hired muscle and was wise enough to pay attention to what businesses did to learn the very outer realm of that business world. What a wonderfully interesting and worthwhile person. She felt that ache again and wanted to know more but she pushed it down.

"Good morning everyone! Such a pleasure to be here and it is the best day of the week, pay day! And we are going to have a great night with the Festival of Lost Souls!"

The crowd cheered and as they did Shidare took a spot next to Terrence for when they sat down. She whispered for Terrence's ears only.

"You may become a permanent part of daily and weekly business dealings. You have a keen and shwerd eye and you do the one thing most don't expect, you listen."

The cheering died down for a moment as the Accountant came in, he was an aliend with eight arms and started giving out their pay in the form of the local currency. After it was done he quickly moved off to eat. Shidare like the alien, he was quick, counted fairly, kept the books balanced, and the taxes paid.

"Alright let's eat everyone!"

Everyone sat and Shidare looked at Terrence, almost as if seeing him in a different light.

"You're right we have a day ahead of us and don't count yourself out if you ever decided to run a business. You are good at what you do and that might just be one of those hidden talents people come to have for something unrelated to what they currently do."

Unaware of Shidare's thoughts Terrence took a seat at the table and got comfortable giving a nod of greetings to the other gathered staff. He curiously glanced up as the accountant arrived and an idle thought crossed his mind that he kept quiet about *Goodness I remember the first time I saw him, took me by surprise and and almost lost composure then but thankfully kept my act together* he thought idly as Shidare took a seat beside him. He glanced to her as she got comfortable "Well who knows? Maybe its a talent waiting to blossom but I do admit my interest branches in other directions."

Giving the beautiful owner a grin he continued "However I'm most certainly not opposed to joining you on further outings, the old saying knowledge is power holds true no matter where you are and I'd be sorely mistaken to pass up a chance to learn more odds and ends" as he helped himself to the food adding things to his plate he couldn't help but wonder just how much he should..tell her, the last thing he wanted was to risk getting Shidare potentially caught up in what he had gone through.

"Being an wanderer of sorts has taught me the value of certain things. Like if you know how to cook you can make a living just about anywhere, hardly a skill more universally more useful than cooking" he stated with a smile as he picked at his meal slowly as he made conversation.

Shidare soaked in what Terrence was telling her. He was a mystery and one that she has freely accepted. She could have refused him but something said that would lead to something but it would have been less than desirable. She opted to help someone in need and she gets to explore at close proximity.

“I’m not surprised you have branching interests. You do seem to be one of those Jack of all trades type to me. I could be wrong, can’t be right about every thing.”

She ate a bit while Terrence continued on about how he was looking forward to the outing. She was glad. She really should have done it sooner but with his injuries and the removal of certain apparel she had to keep him in for a while. He healed quickly too which told her more about than most would think. He could have been one of Du’Avatar’s meta humans. That made more sense but it didn’t track as knew they location of most of them.

“Yes couldn’t agree more about knowledge being power. Why I don’t think I’d be able to do some the things I do without certain knowledges. It does make things a bit easier.”

Oh? A cook. That was something she wouldn’t have picked for Terrence but his own admission made it a good piece of this mystery. She liked that he was giving some information to allow her to form a better picture of him. She was enjoying this.

“You ever cook for someone special Terrence? That’s a great way to make an impression. After all if you can cook you can win someone over that way.”

She smiled and started to finish her plate. It never seemed like it but she had an appetite and it always showed during breakfast. She took some fruit and started to eat the bumpy banana but you didn’t peel it. It was sweet and the seeds were tart to combine for a pleasing flavor. That was the opposite if they were over ripe.

“These cuds are delicious! You should try one Terrence.”

Not once did it ever occur to Terrence that he was nearly as fascinating as his current host pegged him to be however that was just being a bit in denial considering the state Shidare had found him in, there is no way that wouldn't have raised some curiosities to say the least but he was happy to keep that conversation off the table so long as she was. It didn't escape his notice however the way she was keeping quiet about all it said something about her own mental fortitude..made him a bit curious as to what she's experienced to have such self restraint to not ask questions by this point.

He had already deduced that she had some kind of training, fairly extensive if his guess was right with how gracefully she moved and the hidden tone of her muscles, his checking her out over the weeks could have easily been taken as enjoying her beauty which admittedly was a part of it but often mixed with other curiosities. He didn't have the first clue what weapons she may be proficient with but there has to be something and combined with her grace and allure to most people she'd have made a perfect kunoichi of old, seducing and taking out targets.

Currently however he was eyeing the curds she had pointed out while formulating a response about cooking for a significant other he grinned wistfully at that "Hah, its true they say the way to a persons heart is through their stomach." he pursed his lips and hummed seeming just slightly reluctant before continuing "Can't say that I have, never settled down in one place long to make that kinda connection." he finally admitted as he finished adding a bit extra to his plate and dug into his meal again.

He smiled wryly "Admittedly I can't cook anything fancy as much of what I learned was outta necessity in the wilderness but I did refine a bit so its palatable for human consumption" he stated in a good natured jest.

Shidare smiled at Terrence as she thought of how he was lucky that they found him instead of someone else. That someone else may have had malicious intentions. She didn’t believed anyone, except those prosecuted by law at a fair trial, and that lead her to believe he wasn’t guilty of anything because those accessories he was wearing were put on by some very nasty beings.

“That’s ok. You will find someone to cook your palatable meals for. I do think there is someone for everyone. It also doesn’t hurt to attempt, it’s the attempt that counts Terrence.”

She laughed genuinely happy at just the regular conversation. Her day was spent in the office going over reports for the current stock or speaking with Kax about the security. Then finally she spoke with the bar staff and entertainment staff about needs for the day and then for the week and finally for the month. She usually spent most days running the business.

“It doesn’t have to ge fancy. Just made by you for that special someone. That’s all.”

She finished her curd and rose after wiping her mouth.

“Terrence once you have satisfied your appetite I will be collecting my things and be waiting for you on the front seats inside the door. No rush.”

She turned and looked at him then the rest of the room.

“The extermination people will be here to fumigate the storage area. After they leave let’s get up the new lighting for the festival and decorations. Until this evening everyone work swiftly, finish swiftly, and get some rest. It’s going to be a long night.”

She started got the door.

"A special someone? Hah.." he repeated with a bit of a wistful tone as he made good progress through his meal but didn't say more for a few moments as he considered what Shidare had been saying, while he likes to believe she's right he's also not exactly been in a place that gave him the luxury of settling down some and finding a special someone. "Its a nice thought. Maybe I'll learn a few more recipes or something should such an occasion arise." Even as he said that there was a certain quality in his voice that hinted he wasn't exactly so sure of said words even as he said them.

He looked down at what little remained of is breakfast as Shidare gave instructions to the group and headed for the door, with a quiet sigh he finished off his meal and polished off the remainder of his drink, he wasn't about to let his boss wait on him, even if he wasn't on the clock he still had some manners. "Well I can't spend forever just poking at my food, got too much to do today" he mused at how quickly he finished his meal and got out of his seat.

He'd take the couple minutes away from Shidare to gather his own things, mainly a jacket and keys and the such so he was prepared by the time he met up with his boss at the door leading out. "Now then this humble Knight shall be your escort for this outing, I'll be sure you can conduct all your errands free of concern."

[Shidare]

Shidare sat with her parasol on one of the hairs near the side entrance. She gave a grin as Terence spoke to her. He was really charming and she felt the way it affected her. It wasn’t like any of the other who attempted to be charming. He just was charming.

“That’s going to be easy now that you are here. As for concerns I don’t have any. You’re with me and that’s enough. Let’s head out. First place is my liquor distributor. You comfortable with the hover vehicle or shall I drive?”

She offered her arm to Terrence and once had had hooked hers into his she would lead them to the end of the block to the garages. She was sure Kax had given him the full tour and if not then that meant he didn’t have a code to use the cars. She would find out soon enough.

“Kax did remember to give you a code to the garage didn’t he?”

"Truly a parasol in hand is synonymous with class" He commented nodding his head and raised his own hand to wave back at Shidare, She really did present a lovely image relaxing in the chair such as she was but he didn't allow himself the luxury of staring as he approached "I do hope you didn't wait long for me, we shall be off." he commented agreeably as he steeled himself to keep his mind on task as he linked his arm through her offered one. It wasn't in his blood to deny a woman offering her arm like that, it felt like it was his duty to properly escort her as they were now.

As they approached the garage arm in arm he bobbed his head once "I was given the tour and do have the codes but driving is beyond my capacity, so as much as it shames me to say this I'm afraid you'll have to do the driving this time around. Kax was diligent with the tour and I do know my way around, this is just a lack of ability on my behalf."

He offered the woman in his arm a small wry grin "I suppose I can't be good at everythin huh?" he chuckled in good humor as they approached the vehicle they were going to take and he moved ahead of her to open the door so she could slip into the drivers seat, he breathed a silent inward breath of relief once he got a bit of distance from the young woman, the close proximity to her was..making things a bit difficult to keep his mind on task. *Dammit Knight your better than this, stop thinkin with the lower head and be a proper escort* he berated inwardly as he slipped around to the passenger side.

“Yes I have to protect my fair skin. Classy ladies fear the sun and causing wrinkles on our skin.”

She giggled as he asked his questions. He was being himself as far as she could tell and while she appreciated it she also wasn’t used to people being themselves around her. Her house and her staff were themselves and Terrence had extended that to her. That was flattering.

“Waiting for you doesn’t feel like a wait.”

She stopped short of entering the code and looked at Terrence with a pleased smile and a bit wider eyes.

“I’m driving today?!? OK!”

She quickly punched in the code and walked with a restrained hurry to the key box. She entered its code and hurriedly reviewed the keys. She hadn’t been allowed to drive since before the last festival. Oh they were going to hit the light errands and then deal with the Tangs for the bug infested mattress and the part was those damned bugs are inorganic material. Her house was at risk war had been declared and she was going to recoup her losses from their dirty dealings with infested mattresses. It was several hundred gold fud and another five hundred to fumigate her storage.

She started walking toward her car, stopped and smiled at Terrence. “You’re ok with me driving today, right?” She held out the keys as an offer to Terrence. “You don’t have to be good at driving. I’ve got that taken care of.”
