Andrew stopped in his tracks as he noticed Max stopped. It was a curious thing for the man to do. He tilted his head when Max expressed his feelings. Andrew used every ounce of his control not to reveal that Max made his point for him. There was a little something there. Just below the surface which he was going to deny. So be it. He might get Andraste to help him play match maker.
"Well my sister will need a new interrogated when I am gone. You will have officially made it into our ranks as it will the price for killing me. You know it has been something that she wants you do to."
He turned to start walking along this man. His eyes took on a dark tone as he said in a voice loud enough for Max to hear. It might piss him off even more. Andrew did not always know when to just shut up.
"You do realize that I have held back a lot with you. I would hate to have you mangled in front of the girl. If and when we fight for real, I am much more than what I look. You will find that it is not as easy to hit me."

Max was not impressed with this man and his line of work. He did have an interesting choice of work but one that came with trouble. That meant the trouble could land on their doorstep.
“I would be more efficient at it than you. I wouldn’t be distracted by gender and I would get to practice on you if you don’t shut up.”
That was enough for him. He was going to beat the doors of this man now. He didn’t care if he had just reunited with his wife. He had asked for it and now he was going to pay the price.
“I’m going to hurt you now. It’s not an If I can touch you. It’s a who is going to stop me.”
As he moved way faster than Andrew would have expected and as he did the black cat leapt from his shoulder with a warning his at both. Max had Andrew and his grip was stronger than a molecular welded battle plate. He didn’t smiled at Andrew and his eyes said Andrew was going to feel pain.

Andrew laughed at Max's statement. It had taken him years to prefect his art. He would not tell that to the large man. When he was at work, he had a single focus. He liked to play the games that he does with his prey. It keeps them always guessing. His usual distraction was not there.
He smiled, "My dear boy, you know nothing of when I work. Once again, appearances have fooled you. It just means that my reputation is sound."
His body tensed as the large man announced his intent. His eyes never left Max while his fighting instincts took over. He felt lighter as the look on the cat's face confused him. A strong hands caught him. He winked as he saw a familiar form at the door. It seemed only natural that what they were fighting about to end this.
"It would not do to shed blood in front of the girl. Our fight is not now....."

Zowie looked up at just the right moment. The corner of her mouth turned down as it seemed those two never stopped. She could not guess what was the start of now. She tossed down the knife with a groan as she glanced to Andraste. This was not how she wanted to introduce Max to her.
"If you will excuse me...." She did not explain as glanced at the red head.
She stomped across the open space as she closed her eyes. She shook her head as she was not sure what to think about all of this. Her hands were on her hips as her voice was sharp.
"Max let go of him. We have a guest."

Andraste looked over at Zowie as she tossed down her knife. It appeared she was frustrated about something. She turned and looked at where she had walked to the door and saw a very large man, who she could guess was only Max. Zowie surprised Andraste by the way she called down Max. She knew Andrew very well and the way he antagonized people.
“Zowie...I’m not sure about how this started but if Andrew is Andrew then he had a part in it. Let’s see if he did before you get mad at Max.”
She smiled over her shoulder at Max.
“Max is it? Could you turn so I can see Andrew?”
Once he did she smiled at Andrew. His sweet face she narrowed her eyes. She had an idea about how things happened in these situations.
“Andrew my love if you have been aggregating this man who is poised to smoosh you and not in a fun or enjoyable way. I suggest you apologize. Please do we can have lunch without a first aid kit being involved.”
She nodded to him. She loved him but his nonsense, whilst funny at times, could be taken to far.

Andrew felt his heart pound in her chest as he heard than saw her face. He gave her a sheepish grin, knowing he did push a little too far. He could argue that Max was too rigid and needed to loosen up. He was just offering a little help. Plus he was insulted that he could not focus on his work.
The look on her face told him he was not getting out of making this right. He would do anything for the love of his life. He took in a deep breath before he facing Max. He kept all the bitterness out of his voice. It was important to put on a good perception.
"I am sorry, Max, for taking this further than needed."

Zowie looked over at the red haired woman. She blinked a few times as she felt that she was badgered. She sighed as she let Andraste do what she felt was needed. She only knew so much about Andrew.
Her jaw nearly dropped when she heard Andrew apologized. It was most likely the first time that she had ever heard that happen. She looked at Max to see what he was going to do with.

Max was about to bounce Andrew off the ground when he heard Zowie call him down and nearly put him down when another spoke. She seemed to have a handle on who Andrew was and nearly dropped him out of shock when she didn’t miss a beat and told him to apologize or she was going to let max smash him into the ground. He nearly had to do a double take when Andrew complied with what he was told to do by the red-haired stranger.
He was at a loss for a moment while he held Andrew and wanted to thrash the man but couldn’t because he had rendered an apology. He would violate his honor if he harmed him now because the man had rendered the appropriate apology. He placed Andrew on the ground and looked at him.
“Apology accepted. Now let’s go eat. We have to finish up the fence in the west field.”
That was his way of saying they would talk later. Andrew and him knew each other well.

Andraste looked at Zowie as they reentered the kitchen to resume their prep work. She reached over to close Zowie mouth as a small joke.
“I take it he doesn’t apologize much to the large man?”
She chortled with a small snort of genuine humor about how highly Andrew regarded himself. She knew how he acted and actually found it amusing to a point.
“Zowie, I have a secret to tell you about Andrew. He can be an incredible pain in the ass. Yes he’s very sweet and very nice to look at but he can be a pain in the ass. At his core though is a very caring and gentle man. He just hides it with all his flirting and bluster. Besides we can trade guys if you want. Max is something to behold.”
She smiled at Zowie hoping she took it the right way.

The ground could be felt under Andrew's feet. The situation had taken a turn in which neither would have guessed. He knew better than to go against Andraste. It only took once as he found himself out in the cold. He begged and pleaded with her as he incurred her wrath. He was able to get into her good grace after he showed error in his ways.
He brushed the his cloths as he put on his usual playful smile. The tension in the air had all but disappeared. He had a feeling this subject would be brought up once they were out of sight of the woman. He was not opposed to it as there was still plenty to work out.
"Fences rarely mend themselves. I will make the formal introduction to the red haired woman once we get inside. I suppose this means you will get to see the other side."

Zowie followed the other woman inside as she was still in a bit of shock. Normally, she would have to calm Max down as she explained Andrew. It always seemed as if those two were at odds with one another. She could never really figure out why.
Her mouth closed as she looked at Andraste. She shook her head as she placed everything on the table. She was still wrapping her mind around having someone else around who actually was controlling Andrew. Annabelle barely kept him in line when she was here. Her cheeks blushed at the last part with Max. He was always around when she needed him most.
"I don't think Andrew would like that trade even if I agree to it. To me, Max is just Max." She shrugged as she dropped the subject.
She took in a deep breath as she smiled. Her uncle would be around soon. She grabbed bits of meat for the large barn cat, placing it in a dish right by the door.

Max looked at Andrew and nodded. He wouldn’t mind meeting her. This woman after all had done what many have tried and failed. She must be formidable as she had a handle on Andrew.
“I would appreciate meeting the one who has captured your heart. It will be very informative. Shall we?”
He waited and would love to see how this went. He didn’t betray that though and spoke of the fence.
“Yes it does help define the boundaries of our property. Your help is appreciated.”

Andrew's face masked the punch to the gut her had gotten from Max. He chuckled as not to show that all the questions would be answered. He had a feeling he would be in for an embarrassing afternoon.
He did a half bow, "After you. I'm curious as to what the ladies have cooked up."
He blinked a few times with the almost compliment from Max. It was rare that such a thing was ever said to him. They were often on each other's nerves. A threat of being beaten up was usually on a daily basis.
"And to keep the livestock in. After all, the work goes faster with two."

Andraste watched Zowie carefully and saw the small stain of red in her cheeks. She knew that the woman had thoughts like that. Hell Andrew placed those thoughts in people's heads. He had a way to do that with everyone, whether they were male or female. She laughed though at the refusal. Max wasn't just Max. She could almost feel his raw and unadulterated strength from where had snatched Andrew off the ground. She had once liked men like that but now she was very happy with and fulfilled with Andrew.
"Andrew probably wouldn't but it would be a nice little prank to play on him. You know just so he is on the butt end of the joke for once. It does wonders to help him remember that world doesn't revolve around him. Besides a little laugh and getting Max to laugh doesn't hurt anything. The look Andrew would give would be worth a picture or two."
When Max and Andrew entered she smiled at them both with a quick look for Andrew. She didn't approve and he would be able to tell that she didn't approve of his antics. He was supposed to be keeping a low profile if he remembered anything that Annabelle told him that was probably said several thousand times. She sighed as he brushed past her to wash his hands. She then waited to be given a spot to sit. She noted the cat wasn't picky and started to eat the meat rather quickly. It must like these meals or it had done a superior job of keeping the barn clear of vermin.
"That cat is so pretty. What is its name?"

Zowie took in a deep breath as she looked over at Andraste. She crossed her arms as she thought about the joke. She was trying to tell if it was a serious request. She was unsure as it might be a trick. Than again, laughter was something that could be good.
"I might end up giving the joke up. I, sometimes, have a hard time staying in character. It might be something fun to plan once they go out into the field later. If you think it might relieve some of the tension in the air than I guess. I take it that you have done this before?"
She rang the bell in hopes of calling her uncle wherever he was. She took her seat as the other two entered into the kitchen. She waited as she took in a deep breath.
