"Her name is Quantum and she is rather good at her job."
The sandy haired man entered after the bell was rung. He took his seat close to the head of the table. After all this was his farm. He just had a lot of help on it.
He waited for the others to sit down as he said the morning blessing in his head. Since the small group arrived, he did want to offend anyone else. It was the little things that helped him keep the peace of mind in this crazy world.
He could feel an odd bit of tension between everyone. He guessed that some sort of fight broke out which it usually does around here. He started to fill his plate, "So Andraste, how long have you known my newest hand here?"

Max returned to the table with a shirt on and it seemed that it didn't fit him with the way it stretched across the chest and hugged his biceps. He nodded respectfully to Galax and waited for the man to seat himself before he took his seat. He turned to glance at Andraste when she was asked how long she had known Andrew. He was surprised that Andrew was still married to the woman but the way she seemed to have Andrew in hand spoke of a few years of marriage at least.
"Galax you get the prices for grain in town?"
He asked because it seemed that grain was going to be going for a little higher than last season. That was always good but right now he had to finish the fence around the fields so they could actually keep some livestock around here.

Andraste just quirked an eyebrow as she helped finish setting the table. When they were done she heard the man enter and turned giving him a pleasant smile as he seated himself and Max asked his question. Well he was truly just a farm boy who was worried about the farm. He was immense and should be giving Zowie more reasons to wear less. She had Andrew and well that was enough for her because he was more than just some guy who held her attention. He was all that she needed and they were more than friends. They were partners and bound together by more than just a piece of paper.
"She is a very pretty cat, sir. I just haven't been on a farm in a very long time. I like it though and could see why you enjoy the life. It isn't an easy one either. It is true and honest work. I appreciate you allowing my husband and his sister to stay here in exchange for work. It is very kind."
She had purposely sat by Zowie leaving the chair next to max for Andrew. She wasn't going to have his nonsense with Max any longer. She understood it but she wouldn't allow it to go on.

Andrew sighed as he sat across from his wife. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly as he felt that he was getting punished for some odd reason. He took his seat rather quietly as Galax was entered into the conversation. It was true that he and Annabelle did their fair share of work around here. It would argue that he did his a little more often than hers. If he was stuck in one place might as well keep himself busy. Andraste would argue with his choice.
"I believe we have known each other for a life time or two. I believe currently, it has been upwards of ten years or something like that. Honestly, I lost track after the first date."

Galax glanced at Max, "The price should be 5 silver klinaux per bushel. I am sure that we can haggle it to at least seven, if not ten. People are fearful of the drought which has been predicted. I have not seen the signs as others. We are lucky to have a water source close at hand."
He chuckled as he would never have guessed those two had been together that long. They must have something truly special going on if that was true. Part of him wished for that. Zowie was really all he needed for family.
"I am happy for the both of you." He started to pass around various dishes.

Andraste wasn’t mad at Andrew and he should know that after a decade of being married. She just didn’t have time for his nonsense when he really shouldn’t antagonize someone who could possibly hurt you. She took a bit from everything that was passed to her and handed it off to Zowie. The topic was a nice break from everything.
“Yes a decade is a long time but when it’s someone you love it doesn’t seem like it. As for work around a farm. I’m not stranger. I was kind of a misbehaved kid who spent some of her time on a work farm. You know it keeps you from having to learn harder lessons.”
She laughed as she took a small bite of the food. She looked at Zowie with a satisfied smile on her face.
“This is delicious! I’ve been eating rations and other stuff for the last six months and this is just wonderful!”
She was a hardy woman but right now the taste of the meal was outstanding. She was going to relish this.

Zowie smiled at the red haired woman. She took bits and pieces that she enjoyed. She felt the lunch was nothing special. She made it almost every day.
"Thank you. It is just simple and does what it needed. Please help yourself to as much as you want. I am sure that we have more to give if you are still hungry."
She took bits and pieces of what she enjoyed. Her mind focused on the plate in front of her. She made a mental note of what else she needed to do today.
