Neri was about to reply to Mizuki when the pink hair girl had her attention drawn elsewhere. She let out a soft sigh as she off the hook. Her head was very much in this mission. Her personal relationship was no one's concern. It was not like Mizuki ever showed interest in her to begin with. Maybe her crush was starting to fade.
She groaned as her mind raced to figure out what to do with the malfunctioning armor. She was going to have Alex be the meat shield though it looks like that was not going to happen. Malfunctioning armor was not going to work will with them. She crossed her arms as Alex went down hard.
"We are getting her out of the suit. It stays on the ship. I am not having something so simple ruin our mission. We will adept a new plan. Ada, tell me what to push so I can get her out of there, now."

Mizuki stopped her cursing when her sister appeared and handed over tools. That was one situation adverted and what Natsumi said wasn’t lost upon her. She felt it and when Natsumi finished she pushed it all down. She didn’t need the feelings right this instant. She need the cold comfort of knowing that she was with those she loved and was willing to die for them. That was what mattered to her. She looked at each of there faces and she lingered on Neri and Ryuusei. Her feelings were conflicted but again she pushed them away. She had one thing to do, hold the line and get everyone home. It sounded easy but it was anything but easy. She sat back down and placed a hand on Natsumi’s shoulder.
“Say that at the beginning next time. It’s more motivational.”
She watched for a moment more and then started to check her weapons again. She wanted to make sure nothing was going to jam or misfeed, that fee seconds to clear a jam or weapon malfunction could be the difference between life and death.
“Last checks everyone! Weapons and armor. Ada just ensure it works or do as Neri says. Nats check your supplies. Ada if you have to sedate the target do it. Anything else we forgot we don’t need.”

Jacob was quiet as the whole scene went down with the armor. Ada knee the rules and since neither Mizuki or Neri ran that by him it was on them. He had seen the concept drawings and had Jallia feed him the progress as the Tactical AI was OPCon to him and no one else. He liked it but the weight looked to be a bit much. Chi asking him to take the helm didn’t require much of an answer as he flipped the switch to transfer control to him.
“As ordered.”
He took controls and sent a message to a couple pirate groups designating the enemy convoy as a funds and goods shipment. That should create some chaos for them. He kept a current list of all pirates, smugglers, and general thieves for good measure and for uses like this moment. That should create a mess for all parties involved and he sent a subspace encrypted message on a channel only Annabelle monitored time let her know they made need some backup or at least a good distraction. He attached standard fee and bonus if they killed one of the support ships. When Chi returned and he looked at her.
“Everything good in the back Captain?”
He waited until she was seated and transferred the controls back to her. He waited a moment and took his hands off the controls.

Sakuya watched as Mitzuki’s outburst upset the girls around her. Shaking her head, she was about to get out of her seat just to attempt calming everyone down. “How about we all just stop for a minute and think? Screaming and yelling isn’t going to solve a damn thing, and the more angry we get, the worse it’ll be. Calm your tits.” She sighed heavily.
Her gear was perfect, as she checked everything before entering the ship. She then checked it again while sitting down. She’d likely check it one more time before getting off the ship. 3 times is the charm, and is also helped with her OCD.
Looking to Alex and Nero, she gave a small grin “You guys good? Need help? I’m just sitting here twiddling my thumbs.”

Ada was silently relieved when Chisana came back to the back to help locate the tool needed to free Alex from the now-useless leg armor of the Cataphract Armor. Ada's relief soon turned to further embarrassment when Chisana handed her the necessary tool. Beneath the plastered-on smile of the more reasonable Tsukino was someone waiting to punch Ada's lights out for making a mess of "her" ship. The day could not get much worse from here... could it? It did when the Kaioh stated in no uncertain terms that the armor was to stay on board the ship.
So much for her big idea. The big idea was turning into a big disaster.
"Thanks Chisana." Ada thanked the Tsukino before the pink-haired one trudged back to the front to retake control of the ship. Sakuya's chiming in told the Princess of Mercury that she was not the only one tired of Mizuki's attitude. Mizuki always had a "take charge" attitude that routinely straddled the line between being assertive and being domineering.
As Ada freed Alex from the worthless armor under the watchful eyes of Neri, Sakuya, and the others, a new idea came to mind. Maybe she should make something powered by Mizuki's swearing.
The device gifted with the revolutionary power generator would never run out of power as long as the pink-haired "princess" drew breath and something that annoyed her existed.
After finishing the removal of the armor Ada checked her gear. She had medical supplies in a clearly marked medical bag, a submachine gun with enough ammo to last the mission, and a sedative in case the target needed to be sedated. How that last item got in her medical bag was beyond her, but it was one of those happy accidents. It was too bad that the Cataphract Armor could not have worked by a happy accident.

Neri sat back as Alex was free of the armor. Her finger tapped on her arms as they crossed over her chest. The armor would have been nice to have however they could do the mission without it. She knew that they needed to be careful. It would have been nice to have some sort of tank.
"Alex, I will have you with the same team. Grab a shield of sorts. I like the idea of a tank figure taking more hits. We will have to take down the enemy twice as fast."
She sighed as she pushed strains of hair out of her face. There was a funny feeling that she was getting. It happened at the strangest of times. She pushed it to the side. It meant nothing as it was nothing concrete. She only dealt with certainties.

Chi glanced over to the captain with a sigh. Her hands placed on the controls as her eyes locked forward. It was all apart of her new outlook. It is not like anyone would notice. She would also be the cry baby of the group. She tossed her head around as she pushed those thoughts away. Now was not the time as she rubbed her eyes.
"The armor failed and it seems manners were forgotten with my ship. I have a mess to clean up when we get home."
She glanced down at the panel. She wanted to hide all the frustration that she had. She hit the comms, button as she just wanted to go home. "We will be at our destination in 10 minutes. Strap in as I will be taking us out of the slip stream."

Jacob nodded about what had transpired in the troop bay and didn’t say a word. It appeared that everyone had forgotten the chain of command and they would be reminded of it when they returned from this mission. That is they did return. He had looked it over and saw the pieces that could go wrong and right now he was trying to counter those holes and then explain the reason why they almost died.
“I saw that one coming because she doesn’t follow the proper testing protocol for her inventions. There are testing procedures that could have been followed. As for the mess it’s not yours to clean up. It’s Ada’s and she will be doing it. The other thing I will remind people of is the chain of command when we get back.”
He returned control of the ship back to Chi as he waited for reversion to real space and the true fun to begin.

Freya found the whole affair that transpired to actually be none of her business. The fact that Mizuki lost her temper was not a surprise and it being because of something untested should have upset everyone. She kept her opinion to herself as she went and checked her grenade launcher, and then her cans of spray explosive. They were secure. She then decided that her close quarters weapon choice of a shotgun was a good one as she was using a magazine fed shotgun. She smiled as she jacked the slide to chamber a round.
“Let’s have make some noise. I am going to ensure that anyone who takes an active interest in us is going to regret it. It’s going to be a blast.”
She looked at Mizuki and waited for any additional orders they may have to give them before they begin. She may portray someone who like to be a lascivious but when it came time for seriousness she was ready for that.
“Who am I going to introduce to my loud friend here first?”

Mizuki took a calming breath at the whole situation. The fact that every one thought this was a democracy was amusing and a feral smile formed on her face. It wasn’t a democracy and that was going to be addressed as soon as they were done with this mission.
“Yes calming down when an untested piece of equipment malfunctions on a mission is exactly what should happen. We’ll address this after the mission. As for everyone’s two cents let’s remember two team leads for two teams. Everyone else follow your team leads orders.”
She said it to remind everyone present of the chain of command. This was paramount for these missions. It didn’t matter what everyone’s personal thoughts were unless they were hit and bleeding.

Post by Hayate Tenoh on Jan 27, 2020 23:06:03 GMT -6
Hayate had not heard back from the mothership in a bit and was growing concerned that perhaps the situation was worse than was first let on. The ship was still on the move and still intact, but that in itself did not mean anything. There were countless ways to die in space without a dramatic explosion and one of them was a loss of oxygen due to some malfunction in the system. It went without saying that oxygen-breathing lifeforms like humans literally could not live without it.
"Black Swan, is everything OK?" Hayate asked tersely, keeping her communication short. She did not want to annoy Marconi any more than her brother did. She could deal with the Tsukinos if they got to be too short with her, but Marconi was a man to be feared.

Being as perturbed by the lack of communication with the mothership as Hayate was, William debated on whether to contact them or not and risk the wrath of Captain Macaroni. Hayate saved him the trouble by opening communication first. That was a good thing because Hayate's tendency to follow the rules made her less of a target for Macaroni's wrath than William's penchant for trouble.
William listened as patiently as he could considering the circumstances. While he was worried about the others, Sakuya was his special concern. She was the best thing that had happened to him since meeting Albus all those years ago during the days of Queen Uranus' reign.
It was pretty sad when meeting Princess Mars was the highlight of his pathetic life. If he survived this whole Death Phantom fiasco and Uranus was reclaimed, he might just go away somewhere and let Hayate rule by herself. There did not need to be two royals on Uranus and she was more than capable of ruling without him taking up space and breathing valuable air.
"Is everything OK?" William blurted out before he realized what he was doing.
Captain Macaroni was going to let him have it back at base... if he did not reach through the comms link and strangle him first.

Crystal blue eyes looked over at the captain as responded the same as usual. Chi was unsure how she felt about someone else putting things back. She had everything in a certain place. She could use the time alone after the mission.
"So order, sir. I will double check to make sure everything is where I can find it. I just follow what the other's want."
She heard the call from the other two ships. Insult was added to injury when Hayate called her ship by the wrong name, her's was Chi' Freedom. Her strong exterior cracked as tears flooded down her face. She sniffed as she wiped part of her nose.
A deep breath was shakily taken in before she was responded to the ships following her. As the Captain was taking a backseat, she answered the question. "Everyone is still alive. There was armor malfunction. We will be entering normal space in 9 minutes."

Neri looked between everyone in the back as she shook her head. This mission had started on the right foot which quickly deviled into chaos. She chewed on her lip as she stood up. She was going to take back this mission. They were all going to make it home even if it killed her.
"Listen up, the pilot has given us the count down and we need to get ready. The enemy will be everywhere soon enough. We need to be ready. Equipment triple check and strap in."
She took in a deep breath as she followed her own advise. She closed her eyes as she envisioned the plan in her mind, over and over again.

He took a deep breath upon hearing the countdown. (9 minutes till showtime... best get ready.) The only equipment he was taking was the shotgun the Captain offered them before takeoff. He generally avoided firearms, found them unreliable with the need for ammunition and maintenance; they were typically dead weight if they ran out in the midst of a fight or broke down...or fucking went off on you because the chode who handed it out, didn't assemble it right!
Instead, he preferred to use his martial arts techniques; skills he developed himself and could depend on...however, one of his more useful techniques was too dangerous to use inside of a ship. So he'll use the weapon in its place; a little stopping power isn't worth risking his teammates' lives.
He thoroughly checked the weapon over, making sure it was assembled properly and that he had plenty of shells. When there were a few minutes left, he turned to everyone. "Just wanna say it's an honor to serve with you guys," he looked towards the other team. "Good luck on your end." This was also meant for the Tenos, dispite them having no way to hear it.
