William noticed Sakuya laughing at him. It was hard to believe that someone like her was Felix's sister. It was for the best that they did not date. Felix was likely the overprotective brother type. William really did not want to find a land mine under his pillow or a claymore hidden behind his boots.
William was preoccupied when Mizuki began speaking to him. She said something about upgrading his starfighter and the dropship. William was suddenly interested in what she had to say.
“William...later on there are parts for your starfighter and the dropship. Chi and you have the upgrades for them. It’s on the duty roster. Plus for some reason you’ve been posted to the armory with me. I can have the armory cleared off so you can focus on the ships and pull Alex to help in the armory since our ships take priority. Is that feasible for you?”
He finally picked up on what she was saying.
"Is that feasible? It certainly is!" He said to her with excitement. Then he remembered something important. She was nominally in charge of the team!
"Uh, sorry. I meant to say... yes, I can do that, Mizuki." William amended his statement.

Jacob gave Chi a head start as he waited for Jallia to acknowledge the she had Ops. Once that was done he followed behind her. He had let her take the lift first and then when he called it and it returned he rode it to the Galley. He got off and walked into the Galley. He surveyed those assembled and nodded as he grabbed more coffee and took the table where he could watch them. He wasn’t one to intrude upon their conversation. He did need to eat but for the moment he wanted to sit and shake off that dream he had last night. He hadn’t told anyone about them and the AIs would register turbulent brain activity.
He got up and headed over to the chow line to see what the androids had prepared for breakfast. He smiled as he grabbed a tray. He put on eggs, bacon, and ham. He grabbed silverware and went to the table which was reserved for officers or where he and Setsuna sat at opposite ends and ignored each other. He sat down and placed the napkin in his lap and began eating while the troops started to get a bit louder.

After listening to everything Felix had to say, Ryuusei shrugged. "...Still try to take it easy man."
He resumed eating, mainly ignoring the potential fight between Freya and the lovely Martian Princess, chastising her regarding their Commander....but the 'troll comparison' caused the green-haired teen to snicker to himself. (Reminds me of that family of'em I took out 3 years ago...them were good eats that week!)
And speaking of their Commander, "Senpai's here." he addressed Sakuya while a green eye looked behind as Jacob stood in the chow line.

Chi started to dig into her food as Sakuya entered. She smiled to the raven haired girl, "Good morning!"
She looked over as William when he spoke after getting his food. Her sister gave the rotation which is what the captain had said earlier. She nodded her head. "Captain said that when he came to relieve me. I'm actually excited! I can't wait to test it out. Anyone want a ride? It might be fun to have company around."
She let out a large yawn. She pushed her food around the plate as she looked for volunteers. It would be nice to have a friend with her.

Felix listened to Chisana as the latter asked for volunteers. Felix kept quiet. Either William or Hayate would be a better choice. Even Sakuya would be a better choice than him.
"I'd suggest going with William or Hayate. They'll know what you're talking about. You'd do well to take them along." Felix suggested. He did not have the slightest idea how a spacecraft worked. William and Hayate did. They had their very own starfighters and knew their way around spacecraft.
Part of Felix felt a little dismayed that he was only truly proficient at destruction. For that he was eminently qualified. Still, Felix was among the best at what he did.

William heard Felix suggest that Chisana take him along. As much as he appreciated the vote of confidence, the blond felt that he should not go. Shoving his empty tray aside, William candidly spoke to Chisana.
"You should take Hayate along. She's more technically inclined than I am." William offered his suggestion. Hayate had a firmer grasp on the technical side of spaceships than he did. She knew how everything worked and how it was supposed to work. William was no slouch, but his sister would be the better choice.
"Besides, I have a date with the sensors at some point today." William added dryly. He would rather have a date with Freya or Sakuya. Monitoring the sensors was a dull but necessary job. Maybe they could get a third A.I. to do it one day.

Chi sighed when she heard the suggestions. They were good ones. She just wanted someone to ride along with her to chat with. The answers felt technical. It made sense with the world that they live in now. She just wanted to have a little time to relax with another in a place that didn't feel so constricting.
Her shoulders slouched a little as she pushed her tray away. She was not as hungry as she thought. She blinked once as she straightened her back. "When I see Hayate, I shall ask her. Thanks for the suggestion, you two."
She stood up with a large stretch. She needed some sleep to make sure she didn't botch the upgrades. She took in a few deep breaths while she debated what she wanted to do. She should get a few hours of sleep at some point in time.

Sakuya shot a glance back to a Freya, setting her food down hard onto the table by Chi. Her Martian eyes glared onto Freya, as if to fry the woman’s retinas. “Excuse me...?” She growled as she felt her ears become heated. “Respect, Freya. He’s our Commander and he’s saved us. Every single day during training, he’s saving us. And last time I checked, none of us are without flaws.” She shook her head, trying to calm herself down and regain her composure. She wanted to be a leader some day and getting angry over something so trivial was just plain stupid.
Looking to Felix, she shrugged her shoulders “Well good luck then. Try to keep your mind out of the clouds.” She mumbled just as she noticed that Jacob had entered the cafeteria. She remained silent, as her anger was still everly present. Glancing to William, she mustered a smile. Looking to the others as she ran her hand through her raven locks, she sighed “Well, I don’t have much of anything going on today. Use me where ever.” She spoke softly as she sat back into her seat “And good morning, Chi.” She smiled sweetly before turning back to William “So, what nonsense have you gotten into lately?” She asked giving a playful wink.

Ryuusei chuckled to himself as Sakuya nearly lost it over their Commander, meanwhile he considered Chi's invitation. (They'll probably want me in one soon enough so...) "I'm free until 1400, so mind if I tag along?"

Freya looked at Sakuya and her eyes widen. That little twat was lecturing her on respect. The fucking nerve of her. When most saw her eyes widen they thought it was surprise and in most cases it was surprise but this was from anger. Her eyes darkened as she unbutton her BDU top and slid out of it as she stood to approach Sakuya. The shirt she wore always seemed one size to small because of her bust and the way it stretched when tucked in. She took a moment and leaned down and whispered to her.
“Oh you’re one to lecture on respect. You know before you speak of something you might want to learn what it means. It was nice to see that Martian fire I’ve seen only one other place.”
She gave a knowing smile as she rose back to her full height and turned as if to walk away. Then spun back with a fist aimed at Sakuya’s face.

William wondered where Hayate was. She usually beat him to the galley. Was she OK? He was thinking about leaving briefly to see if she was still among the living when tensions between Freya and Sakuya reached a flashpoint and things went beyond mere verbal sparring. Freya actually took a swing at Sakuya!
William spit coffee in a cone of brown mist, creating a puddle on the table. It was a good thing that no one was sitting in front of him when he did. He would have to clean that up later, but it could wait. What he saw in front of him was both intriguing and frightening.
Two of the station's most attractive girls were going to fight one another. There was a name for this sort of situation. William believed that Terrans called it a "cat fight."
William had to remember not to make Freya an enemy. But what did she mean by "Martian fire" she had seen in only one other place? That was a question that would have to wait for an answer.

Hayate rolled off the bed and landed on the unforgiving floor. She had spent most of the night watching one of her brother's cheesy sci-fi movies. It was a strange one about people trying to stop a giant mutated gopher that was the test subject of a secret experiment to create a bioweapon capable of destroying cities by burrowing under them and destroying foundations. It had cheap special effects, a microscopic budget, and a nonsensical plot, but it was entertaining, if only to see how much dumber it could get.
Hayate quickly got dressed in the uniform and raced to the galley. She was uncharacteristically slow today. When she came to a stop in the doorway, she soon regretted her decision to hurry.
"Hey guys, what's... going on..." Hayate trailed off. She saw Freya and Sakuya engaged in hostilities. She saw William gawking at the developing fight while sitting at a table covered with coffee. The partial showing of Freya's considerable "assets" might have had something to do with that. Hayate shrugged her shoulders.
She briskly got out of the way and grabbed a cup of coffee, then plopped down beside William. Thankfully the seat beside him was dry. It was nice to have ringside seats that were out of the line of fire.
Just another day in the Dark Echoes Fight Club.

Sakuya’s eyes grew even more red as Freya approuched her. “Martian Fire?!” She thought for a moment GOOOOOOOD?! No... no, ew, fucking What? GROSS! Sakuya vomited inwardly, groaning at the mere thought of her brother and...HER...
“Fucking what...did...you..ju—“ Her sentence was suddenly cut off as she received a premonition of what was just about to come. She saw the fist coming to her. Eyeballing the proximity, she dodged the hit, bending her spine and using her flexibility to spin, taking her foot and kicking Freya to her torso “Seriously, Freya?!” She exclaimed “Of course you’d resort to this. You’re even more immature than I thought.” She growled.

When she dodged Freya was a bit surprised and the kick caught her totally by surprise. She grunted and grabbed her leg and demonstrated what all those months in the high gravity gym were for as she tossed her. She shook off the pain and regained her air.
“Immature?!? Oh you don’t know the half of it you frosty bitch!”
She quickly covered the ground to Sakuya. She was going to beat the fire out of her. She considered a chair but decided it would feel better using her fists. She reached down for her shirt to pull her up.

Sakuya gasped as her foot was twisted and she fell to the ground. Damn! Well, no matter...
“YEAH! I called you immature, you little twat! This the best you got?!” She roared in anger as the woman pulled her by the shirt “This is fucking CASSSHMERE!” She screamed as she whipped her head back, only to bring the forward to smash into Freya’s forehead, smacking her nose in the process. Then grabbing her shoulders, she glared into the woman’s eyes “I’m going to show my brother just how much of a pansy you really are..” she whispered into her ear “Bring it, bitch.”
